XFM Manchester - October 2007

Back on the main stage at Dry Bar's multi roomed event, it's the turn of Manc six-piece Carlis Star to take their bite of the cherry. Coming on like a harder Weezer, CS's strengths are their catchy melodic rock and the contrast of their front row that goes something like glamour (Shona), rock frontman (Simon) and a generally fairly nuts Nicky Wire-esque bundle of eyeliner and low slung bass (Alf).

The tunes are solid and despite protests that they're all ill, CS produce a quality half hour of tunes. Ones to watch...
